Commencement 2006
Craig Jensen Founder, Chairman and CEO of Diskeeper Corporation
Having worked in the computer industry since 1969, Mr. Jensen founded Diskeeper
Corporation (formerly Executive Software) in 1981 with nothing more than an early
personal computer and a box of file folders in his kitchen in Hollywood, California.
Releasing his flagship product to an overwhelming public reception, Diskeeper Corporation
exploded onto the computer marketplace—ranking on Inc. magazine's list
of the 500 Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies in America for four years in
a row and appearing on Software magazine's list of the Top 100 Independent
Software Companies in the World.
Mr. Jensen spoke about taking full responsibility for one's life: "When one takes
the view that 'stuff happens, and there's not much you can do about it,' one leads
a generally unhappy existence. After all, stuff is always happening to you.
It's like being a ping pong ball in the game of life: you're often getting batted
around a lot. But when stuff happens, you don't have to be the effect of it. Even
if you can't control something, you can be responsible for it and do something about
it. Try taking the viewpoint that no matter what happens, there's something you
did or failed to do that caused or allowed it to occur. Think that over for a moment.
If you take that as a starting point, whether it's true or not, you will always
be searching out the weak points in your actions and working to improve those abilities.
You will always be straightening out your life, your job, your family, your entire
existence. This is a good, workable approach to life."

"Words are not enough to describe what this program has brought into my life. I
have moved faster than I ever could. I have produced products that I never dreamed
I would. I have fallen, but I have picked myself up. I have known hard work. I have
felt the slime of ignorance, and I have turned it into hope. I have learned to be
humble enough to learn from others, and to be strong enough to have others learn
from me. I have loved expansion, and the sweat that must come with it.
"Delphi is a true miracle, if only because today I know that man's greatest gift
is knowledge, and that man's only hope lies within the individual."

"Students often describe Delphi in terms of 'integrity,' 'honor,' 'leadership,'
'ethics' and other esoteric concepts. While it is true that I have seen the importance
of each of them, it is all of them in combination that led me to define my own values
and helped me achieve what I thought was impossible.
"Delphi has moved my level of ethics and responsibility to new heights. I learned
the power of granting importance to others, and discovered the ability to lead.
Integrity and honor have become my greatest possessions, and helping others my highest
goal. What this program did I'll never forget."

"Life became a lot more simple and enjoyable at Delphi. I realized the importance
of having goals. There were times I pulled off miracles because I set a goal and
went all out. Nothing could get in my way. I realized that goals motivate life,
action and production, and they make it exciting at the same time.
"Thanks to Delphi, I feel ready to go and live life!"
